Advanced Placement/
International Baccalaureate
Geneseo awards a maximum of 30 semester hours for achievement in college-level Advanced Placement (AP) examinations and/or IB (International Baccalaureate) coursework completed. Credit may be awarded if you have completed these courses in secondary school and have taken the appropriate examinations. Criteria
Admission decisions are based primarily on your high school academic record and the results of college entrance
examinations. The Supplemental information you provide is taken into consideration as well. Geneseo will accept the results of either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I) or the American College Test (ACT). Strong academic programs (especially those that include honors-level courses and AP or IB courses) are preferred.
You are encouraged to complete Geneseo's Application Part II, which includes an essay and the opportunity to highlight extra curricular accomplishments. Additionally, our supplemental form will be sent to you once we receive your application. It is also available through this link to be downloaded.
One letter of recommendation, from an academic discipline, is required. You may choose to submit others, as appropriate.
